Melodie Fais Melodie Fais began her study of dance at age seven, under the direction of nationally recognized Oleg and Mireille Briansky at the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem PA. While attending she had the opportunity to perform and train with artists such as ABT's principle dancers, Irina Dvorovenko and Maxim Beloserkovsky as well as many other talented artists. She is a graduate of the recently established Lehigh Valley Performing Arts School in Bethlehem PA. She began training in Horton and Graham technique as well as developing her own choreographic movement vocabulary. In 2010, Melodie graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University's Dance and Choreography program. While obtaining her B.F.A she worked with artists such as Starr Foster, Monica Bill Barnes, Judy Steel, Gerri Houlihan, Christian Von Howard, Martha Curtis, and created with many beautiful and talented students. While in her senior year at VCU, her senior project was selected and performed at the American College Dance Festival, which she attended and performed in 2009 and 2010. After graduating Melodie has attended the American Dance Festival where she worked with International choreographer Ming-Lung Yang as well as studied under Jesse Zaritt, former Shen Wei Dance Arts alum. She also had the great pleasure of performing and choreographing internationally with New York originated BNW: Dance at The Space in Hackney, Greater England. She also continues to perform locally with BNW:Dance, and will be performing at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and the Chicago Fringe Festival this September. She is very excited to be teaching at Jessica Morgan School of Dance. | |||
