Mary Gentry
(teacher) Mary has been a dancer for 22 years, and a teacher for 11 years. She has spent her whole life dancing and traveling and graduated with a Bachelor or Arts degree in Communications, Minor in Dance Appreciation, from George Mason University in 2009 . She has trained, assisted, and danced for such choreographers as Brian Friedman, Rhapsody James, Marty Kudelka, Savion Glover, Dave Scott, Kevin Maher, Nappytabs, and many more. She has been nominated for the Monsters of Hip Hop showcase & also received the Lifetime award for Monsters of Hip Hop in 2009. She has traveled all over the world to teach students of all ages tap and hip hop. She was a principal dancer on the new Hannah Montana movie and worked closely with Hairspray and Step Up choreographer, Jamal Simms. She has performed on the Virginia, Good Morning show doing hip hop and tap. She taught hip hop at Dynamic Dance Intensive in Birmingham, Alabama and for Xtreme Dance Summer camp in Abingdon, Va. Mary won the Dance Fenom for Famecast and she won the 2005 Female World Dance champion in LA. She has been an Instructor & Judge for Dance Educators of America for the past year where she teaches hip hop and tap.
