(teacher) began dancing at the age of three. She started her training a couple years later at the Russell School of Ballet, Home of the Fairfax Ballet, in Chantilly, Virginia. After Joye was asked to be in their company, she had the opportunity to perform at numerous venues such as George Mason Center for the Arts, Joy in Motion, and Dance Place. A couple years after graduating from high school, she joined her mentor, Melanie Lelande’s, contemporary company call Mayzsoul where she was given the chance to choreograph. In 2009, Joye was promoted to assistant artistic director for Mayzsoul. Since being in Richmond, teaching at Jessica Morgan's School of Dance has given her passion to teach and create. She hopes to continue to teach at Jessica Morgan’s and produce exciting and entertaining pieces.
